Annual report 2025
Figures reflect performance. People make it possible. Safety, quality and responsibility are constants in the work of Swiss Transfusion SRC. But people are always front and centre: committed staff, loyal donors and strong partners.
People front and centre
Our task is clearly defined. We are responsible to the outside world for ensuring safe, reliable processes that are as simple as possible for donors. Providing medical care to patients is the job of hospitals; our job is to ensure the quality of the processes and products upstream. Safety is paramount here.
Fulfilling this responsibility to those outside the organisation requires that certain conditions be met within the organisation. We are grateful to have independent and dedicated employees on whom we know we can rely. Our areas of activity range from specialist medical fields to IT to marketing and organisation. This breadth makes the work challenging, but it also makes it special.
Solid and successful year
Several records were broken in the blood stem cell division: at 105, the number of collection procedures from donors in Switzerland came in at an all-time high, as did the number of confirmatory typing procedures, at 482. In addition, over 11,000 new donors were registered. That is not a record, but it is still an extraordinarily high number. These developments reflect continuous work and effective collaboration across a range of fields.

Blood supply remains stable
The occasional shortages reported in individual regions in the summer and over the holidays at the end of the year could be dealt with effectively, thanks to the tremendous dedication of the regional blood transfusion services and the altruism of donors.
Annual result
Swiss Transfusion SRC closed the year with a small gain.
